EL MOLINO is an extruded feed formulated with a very selective local and imported ingredients to adequately supply the nutritional requirements of Tilapia.

Basic Composition :
The extruded El Molino feed is manufactured with selected ingredients based on their nutritional , palatability and digestibility facts. The main ingredients used in this feed are : fish meal, soybean meal, fish oil, wheat and barley byproducts, rice polishings, calcium and phosphorous sources, salt, specialized vitamins and minerals for aquaculture, fungicides and antioxidants.

Our process with high hydro-thermal EXTRUSION technology allows pressurized cooking and steam controlled conditioning, the product is subjected to high temperature for a short period of time (HTST), resulting in the following features.
		Better nutrient digestibility.
		Deactivation of anti-nutritional factors.
		Minimum nutrient degradation.
		Better feed conversion ratio.
		Pathogenic Bacteria and fungi feed free.
		Floating and stability capacity of feed in water, maintaining water quality in the culture system.
		Decreased pollution and avoidance of pond soil deterioration.
		Adequate nutritional balance.

Handling recommendations :
		Adequate fertilization to obtain large availability of algae.
		Use the specific feed size for the different fish stages.
		Feed supply must be subject to changes according to the animal biomass.
		More frequent feeding (up to 12 times daily) in the fingerling stage, and from 2 to 3 times daily in the weight gaining stage.

Comments on Poly cultivation :
		The poly-culture system seems to be an interesting option for optimizing operations in shrimp farms. Not only because it increases production by pond unit, but also, there is evidence support that when the two species are together, the tilapia cuts down horizontal pollution as it eliminates those shrimps killed by the WSSV virus.
		The type of feed to be used in poly-culture, whether this be extruded or expanded, depends on the animal stocking and dominant specie.
		Competition for primary productivity gives the utmost important to feed quality and feeding system. In the majority of cases only one of the species is fed; this decision is based on each farmer requirements.
